Alan Young set up a sole practitioner practice in 1986, having completed a BSc degree in Building Surveying at Leicester Polytechnic, and became an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1984.

Alan was born in Yeovil and educated in the locality, and
therefore has a good understanding of the local environment, needs and amenities.

The practice was originally based in a small office at the back of a local glove factory on Seaton Road but moved to the now established location at The Lodge, Penn Hill, Yeovil in 1991.
